The illuminated clock tosses me out of bed,

The walk to the Keurig button is on autopilot,

Now I stagger to the bathroom,

Trying to keep those “musts”, “have-tos” on mute.

Open the shades for a peek,

Still dark, cold. . .

Grab the warm mug , catch the morning headlines,

Now off to the shower for morning ablutions

And the daily race begins!
