I am a cat person. I do like dogs. But if I enter a person’s house, I am interested in the cat.

My cat’s name is Janus. She is named after the Roman god Janus, protector of gates and doorways. This figure is depicted with two faces, one looking into the past, the other into the future.

My cat’s facial fur pattern is divided exactly in half. If you look at her from one side, she has a totally different color pattern than seen from the other side. Her right side paws are a different color than her left side paws.

Like my cat, I am independent, slow to show my affection and very loyal. I am going to try to be more like the god Janus too. Yes, I will acknowledge the past, learn from the past. I am looking forward to the future also. I am an optimist. I give people the benefit of the doubt. I hope for the best. I believe if you work hard and play fair, you should be rewarded. I hope 2020 will be the happiest year ever!

  1. Pretty cat. Her face reminds me of the comedy/tragedy mask. I, too, am a cat person, but we have two dogs and only one cat, Hero. I like the values you mentioned, and I share this philosophy w/ you. I hope you and Janus have a “purrfect” 2020!

  2. What an interesting face. I can see why you named her Janus. The way you have expressed Janus’ role, it makes perfect sense that the Romans would make him a god. Lucy the basset hound and I will be curled up together to ring in the New Year. yes, we will both probably be asleep when the clock tolls midnight. We wish you and Janus a very happy 2020.

  4. That’s the perfect name for your beautiful cat! We would all be wise to look back as we look forward; that is what history is for. Learning, not making the same mistakes … starting afresh.
